Several weeks ago, my husband gifted me with an early Christmas present: a treadmill. I knew that once we got the treadmill I wanted to put up some of the inspirational collages I’ve made through the years as well as all my race numbers and finishers medals. Yesterday, I finally had the chance to put it together and in so doing was reminded of how strong I really am.
Many of the collages I’ve made were during my recovery from anorexia and bulimia. I made them as visual reminders to help me stay focused on who I really was, underneath all the lies and addiction of an eating disorder. For a long time these posters were what reminded me that there was hope beyond the struggle I was in-that there was freedom. I just had to believe and have faith that I was made to be something MORE.
Looking at those posters last night as I hung them on the wall made me realize how far I have come. I’ve been behavior free for three and a half years. When I think about that victory it inspires me to “run the race set out for me” in life and in running. It reminds me that I can do all things in through the strength that God gives me.
I’m looking forward to getting on the treadmill and running-inspired by my past victories.
How do you stay motivated on treadmill runs? What would you put on your wall of inspiration?

Very nice collage! Colored, warm, inspiring… Also, your handwriting is very beautiful! Someday I will try making a wall as nice as yours is! (:
Also, your blog is very interesting! I’ll be following it.
By the way, I would definitely hang pictures of friends and travels… besides things like you already have on yours.

Thank you! And thanks for checking out my blog:)
That is so beautiful Sarah! I am so thankful that God has changed your life and that now you can run in freedom, both figuratively and literally! I’m hoping for a place in our home that we can put a treadmill and do the same. But, for now, I stay motivated on the treadmill by thinking about all the fun races we will run together, very soon!
